I am an ordinary person who learned many things by not being afraid to take risks. I started my business in the moving industry with an old Mercedes van that I bought for 13.000 CZK.
When I returned from North Africa with this van after an expedition that took over two months, my friends and acquaintances couldn’t believe it. This venture brought me into their consciousness and just like that, I naturally started to transport what was needed.
I still like adventure, and I am not afraid to improvise and experiment. My strength is that I can also help people with the psychological side of moving and clearing and manage the logistics of all the work, including workers and transportation in a smart way. Logistics is just in my blood.
Rich and vivid imagination is a gift to my life.

If you want to get a better idea about the person who is behind these lines and who acts in the role of the managing director of the moving company dohodou.cz, here is a little about me.

I was born in Prague in 1980, and I started my life under the communist rule, if only for 9 years.
That was a time when people acted kind of strange and were always afraid of “something”.
As a child I experienced the euphoria in the society after the Velvet November that ended the communist regime.
I have been paddling my kayak on Czech, Slovak, European and African rivers, seas and lakes since I was ten years old. The feeling of being alone in the “fight” against the river’s waves, rapids and stoppers has probably taught me to rely only on myself.
Even as a boy I felt love and respect for animals, land, and people. That is probably why I refused to join the military service in my teens and decided to do civilian service instead – I worked in a small village near Prague as a “gardener and builder”.
After graduating from a construction industrial school, I was interested mostly in pond cultivation and building bike paths.
At the age of nineteen I participated in a project that won the village of the year award.
My strong desire to explore, travel and be free made me learn from my mistakes and fix them.
In the early days of my business – after coming back home from New Zealand where I was working for a year – I was also doing night shifts building stages and sets in theatres and delivering pastries or washing cars in car washes during the day.
For nine years, I ran a snowboard school in Rokytnice nad Jizerou each winter together with running my moving company.
This work brought great joy to me and my soul, and I managed to teach many children and adults alike how to snowboard thanks to my own methodical approach. Five months a year in the mountains with the omnipresent silence broken only by the sound of falling snowflakes taught me the sanctity of the mountains.
Over the course of last 25 years, I lived and worked for a year in the aforementioned New Zealand, Iceland and, in the sum of all expeditions, North Africa.
Thanks to my work I have also travelled through Europe several times and visited both South and North America, Indonesia, China, and the Pacific.
Over the course of my life and working career I have driven nearly two million kilometres, many of those on the other side of the road.
22 years of experience and physically demanding work, thousands of satisfied customers, professional successes and fulfilled dreams. But let’s be honest, there have also been a few minor personal setbacks.
All this drives me to carry on in my business.
In the course of my work, I have realized that I have a natural ability to help people psychologically. I can easily put myself in the customer’s shoes and if needed, I can also accept their fears, concerns, and possible sadness. Thus, the moving and clearing process has shaped my role as a guide.
These subsequent relationships are also very beneficial for me and my personal development.
They teach me not to judge people and to be kind and gentle with all people, even if there are no natural mutual sympathies.
Many customers have helped me broaden my horizons, both with the information they have provided and with the way they think. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all.
I have experienced hospitality, good times, and a lot of fun with many customers but also stressful situations, lying, hypocrisy and despair with others.
Examples include a move from Prague, where a customer’s own unfortunate mistake caused that he has broken his leg in several places during an ugly fall down the stairs, or an international move from post-war Kosovo, where tanks were still driving around and where my life was in danger due to an attempted ambush. I managed it all thanks to my alertness, good judgment, foresight and a bit of luck.
All of this and my experience made my company unique.

In conclusion, I would like to take this opportunity to forgive those who did not treat me fairly in our working relationship and did not pay us for our work.
